Podcast
A podcast is a digital media file which is distributed over the Internet, often using syndication through an RSS feed, for playback on either a personal computer, or to be downloaded and played on an iPod or some other form of MP3 style digital media players. The term originated from concatenating the words iPod (the Apple digital media player) and broadcast, but the podcast itself doesn't have to be listened to on an iPod.
The podcast could be anything from all or part of a conventional radio programme available for consumption on the web in different way, to an audio version of a blog post, published on someone's blog. The term can refer to the content - a podcast, or can be used as a verb for the act of creating a podcast - podcasting. The author of the podcast might be referred to as a podcaster. Many radio broadcasters, such as the BBC, now make a large amount of their broadcast content available for download and listening in this form.
